Report: German Chancellor Merkel on NSA spy list since 2002

According to German News, the  German Chancellor’smobile phone has been in an NSA target list since 2002 and was code-named “GE Chancellor Merkel” according to Der Spiegel. The paper also reports that President Obama a assured Merket that he did not know her phone was tapped.
In an SCS socument cited by the magazine, the agency said it had a “not legally registered spying branch” in the US embassy in Berlin, the exposure of which would lead to “grave damage for the relations of the United State to another government”
From the CIA and NSA sraff were tapping communication in the Berlin’s government district with high-tech surveillance.
The magazine says that according to a secret document fron 2010, such branches exited in about 80 locations around the world, including Madrid. Rome, Geneva , Paris, and Frankfurt.
German spy chief will travel to the United Stet next week to demand answers following the spy allegations.
