You are a boss. Nice Congrats, however it can be very
difficult beings a boss who is not respected, ineffective at managing staff, or
even actively disliked. How do you get your staff to be the best thing that
ever happened to you?
Here we discuses some important points for a Good Boss.
Realize that
management succeeds via the efforts of the workers:
Because you’re in charge doesn’t mean you deserve all the
credit for the work being done. Your staff is responsible for the bulk of the
work. You are leading them as they get it done to be sure all regulations are
complied with etc.
Provide value to
customers:
Very few people want to work for a company that rips
customers off. Those that do will have no compunction in ripping you off in
fact they may feel some measure of justice in doing so.
Get Feedback:
Seek out feedback from bosses, colleagues, mentors and key
employees about your management style. Ask for constructive criticism and be
willing to hear the good and bad. Don’t respond or defend yourself, just
listen. Commit to at least one action based on this feedback.

Trusts:
Shows loyalty and support. When someone from another
department has complaints about one or your workers, a good boss listens to get
a clear understanding of what happen, then speaks with that person before
forming judgment. If you were out line, she’ll have you fix the situation. If you
were in the right, she’ll return to the person who complained to set things
straight.
Find Teachable
Moments:
Life is about learning, so be sure to use every interaction
as an opportunity to teach, not just talk. Use the mistakes of your employees as
opportunities.
