30% of Americans get news from Facebook study show.

New York: 30% of Americans get their news on Facebook, and suggests that the social network drives people to media sites who may not have otherwise done so.
Pew Research Center published a study that polled 5,173 adults on their news consumption habits on Facebook. Almost half…47% of adults Facebook users consume news on Facebook, which means about 30 percent of the US.

On Monday, Facebook announced that it was driving 170% more traffic to media sites this year than in 2012.
